Dezineforce seminars inform the engineering design community about
  • developments identified by academic and other speakers as being of potential importance for designers
  • groundbreaking technologies and design methodologies being brought within the reach of all by dezineforce
Future events we will be presenting at may be found here
  • Solent Synergy

Nearly 40 design engineers from organisations including Eaton Aerospace, Ramjet Filters, SmarterScience, View 360, Realise Product Design and REAP Systems, attended the latest seminar in The Future of Design series at the Millbrook Technology Campus (UK) on July 9th, hosted by Solent Synergy.

Prof. Simon Cox (University of Southampton) offered insights into design techniques such as those for robust design for full service life in the presence of service damage and manufacturing error. Richard Harding (dezineforce) demonstrated over-the-web execution of integrated performance simulation and optimisation computations. The discussion that followed reflected the issues of the moment for the audience...how much does dezineforce adapt the workflows to individual customers’ needs? Can the designer specify packages he would like added to the service? Is [dezineforce] help and training given to generate the files needed to execute workflows? What applications are already available? How does dezineforce charge? What is the minimum subscription period? Peter's answers are included on the FAQs - Service.

  • Motorsport Industry Association

The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) hosted a seminar in The Future of Design series at its headquarters in Warwick (UK) on June 23rd. The attendees included design engineers and academics from organisations including the Cranfield Impact Centre, Safety Devices, SPC Design Ltd, Motorsport Components and OCF.

Prof. Simon Cox of the University of Southampton led his audience through an animated presentation on approaches to design challenges being taken by companies such as BAE and Rolls Royce, including their exploitation of developments in high performance computing, the semantic web and optimisation. Dr. Peter Collins, CEO of dezineforce, demonstrated over-the-web set-up and real-time execution of an analysis and optimisation computation: aerodynamic performance of an airfoil. The lively debate that followed generated questions including: How do we subscribe? We're based in China - can we access the service from there? As the dezineforce customer base grows - will the service response slow? Is the service secure? Peter's answers are included on the FAQs - Service.
